Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

This is a starting template. Have it reviewed by legal counsel and replace every [bracketed] detail with your company information before relying on it.

1. Who we are

CalTrade ("CalTrade", "we", "us") is operated by [Company legal name], registered at [registered address], company no. [registration number], tax no. [tax number]. You can reach us at [contact email].

2. What CalTrade is — and is not

CalTrade is a position-sizing and risk calculation tool for cryptocurrency futures traders. It displays market data and, where you connect an exchange API key, can read your account and place the orders you explicitly request.

CalTrade is not financial, investment, or tax advice, and is not a broker or an exchange. All trading decisions are yours alone. Trading futures carries a substantial risk of loss.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Keep your password and two-factor codes confidential.

4. Exchange API keys

If you connect an exchange API key, it is encrypted at rest on our servers and used only to read your account and to place orders you initiate. We strongly recommend using a key with withdrawals disabled and, where supported, IP restrictions. We never have, and never request, withdrawal permission.

You are responsible for the permissions you grant your key and for any orders placed through CalTrade at your direction.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor (Stripe). Prices, currency, and any free-trial terms are shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.

We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next renewal.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service: no attempting to break, overload, or reverse-engineer it, no unauthorized access, no use that violates applicable law or your exchange's terms.

7. Availability and market data

Market data and prices are provided on a best-effort basis and may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service and are not liable for losses arising from data delays, errors, or downtime.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CalTrade is not liable for any trading losses or for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using CalTrade and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or applicable law.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated where appropriate. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes are subject to the courts of [jurisdiction]. Questions: [contact email].
